The Norwich Community Money Advice Connect Centre has been established in response to increasing levels of debt and poverty in Norwich. We are affiliated with the national charity Community Money Advice.

Although the city has many great advice services, they are struggling to keep up with demand, and most can only offer formal advice and debt relief services.  We aim to offer time, friendship and support to help with the mental and emotional strain of financial hardship, at the same time as helping to get financial help where necessary. For as long as it takes.

This Connect Centre provides the following services to clients in financial difficulty: face to face support, teaching how to manage a household budget; collecting and collating the client's financial information; referring and interfacing with regulated debt advice services; and signposting to other services.

Financial problems are about so much more than money.  They can be damaging to health and relationships and can leave people feeling worthless and ashamed.  They contribute to depression and even suicide.

can you help?

We are looking for additional Volunteers.

Trustees

We are looking for active and hands-on trustees to help establish and build the charity over the next three years. We would expect trustees to have a lead area. We are looking for experience in fundraising, strategy and advocacy, but we are not limited to these areas.

Money Mentors:

You will work alongside clients to navigate budgeting and debt issues, offering the holistic support they need on their journey toward financial stability.

Why volunteer with us?

Intellectually Stimulating: Every client’s situation is a unique puzzle requiring creative problem-solving.

Local Impact: Help your Norwich neighbours break the cycle of debt and build a better community.

Strategic & Social: We are a brand-new charity. Join us at the ground level and help shape how we support our city from our base at Chantry Hall.
